We celebrated my 70th birthday and John's 80th birthday on July 22nd with a big party attended by over 130 people.  It was great fun!  Our dance troupe, Desert Rose Dancers entertained, and were joined by some of our family and friends.  Here are some shots from the event.

We celebrated 4 birthdays; Donna Voss', granddaughter Alicia Vieira's, and John's and mine.  Photo cake!

Folks enjoying the warm night and good food.

Part of our dance troupe doing "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy".  Doodley Ah, Doodley Ah Doo!

Finally have the words to the song written by Kelyndra, Paulo and kids for our 70/80th birthday party.  Paulo and Joseph played and they all sang this song to the tune of "the Gambler".  Such fun!

YAVAPAI 150 written and performed by the Vieira Family

Chorus:
She
ʼs seventy, heʼs eighty, holy mackerel that is crazy
It
ʼs one-fifty all together, thatʼs more than all us here.
They
ʼve been married for thirty years now, and they still speak to each other, At the rate that things are going, thereʼs hope for thirty more.

On a warm summer evening, in a UHaul to Arizona, with a Wheaten and a Shih-tzu they left cold Michigan So they took turns at driving, to Dewey in Yavapai The population doubled, as soon as they moved here
Chorus
Now Judith made a lifetime of breeding unknown dogs,
and finding hidden truffles (they dug up our whole yard)
And if you don
ʼt mind my saying, they make us cough and sneeze Isnʼt it ironic, our kids have allergies!

Everybody knows that Johnʼs secret to surviving,
Is drawing in the basement, eighteen hours a day
Cause drawing cars is awesome, but drawing trucks is better And the best that you can hope for is a truck that telescopes

Chorus
So they bought up a Rialta and they filled it up with dogs, drove it cross the country, more than once or twice
And they started dancing fancy with the desert rose ensemble Now they entertain the masses, almost every single night

Before we finish singing, thereʼs something we should tell you, Weʼre so appreci-a-tive, of how you are their friends
Cause somewhere in the desert, the Martins they found Eden
and in these mountain peaks they found a place that they call home
